ERG LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS

1 Intersectionality as a Leadership Competency (ERG Leaders Version)

Help your ERG leaders move beyond “representation” into intentional, identity-aware leadership. This workshop uses Dr. Lola Adeyemo’s MAP Framework (Mirror–Allies–Power) to deepen self-awareness, strengthen communication, and build communities of belonging.

Overview

ERG leaders sit at the intersection of identity, advocacy, and organizational strategy. This workshop gives them language, tools, and space to reflect on how their lived experiences shape how they lead, collaborate, and show up for their communities.

Through guided reflection, storytelling, and practical frameworks, participants explore intersectionality not as theory, but as a leadership competency they can activate inside their ERGs.

2 Leading Without Authority (ERG Version)

Help your ERG leaders move beyond “representation” into intentional, identity-aware leadership. This workshop uses Dr. Lola Adeyemo’s MAP Framework (Mirror–Allies–Power) to deepen self-awareness, strengthen communication, and build communities of belonging.

Overview

“Responsibility without authority” can be a recipe for burnout—unless leaders have tools to influence across functions, build strong sponsorship relationships, and mobilize volunteers with clarity and purpose.

This workshop gives ERG leaders practical ways to move projects forward, navigate resistance, and advocate for their communities while partnering strategically with HR, DEI, and business leaders.

Who It’s For
  • ERG/BRG Leaders and Committee Members

  • Project Leads on ERG Initiatives

  • ERG Ambassadors and Champions

Participants Will:
  • Clarify what they can control and influence in their role

  • Learn practical influence strategies for cross-functional environments

  • Practice language for making requests, setting boundaries, and asking for support

  • Explore how to build credibility and trust over time

  • Create a simple influence map for a current or upcoming ERG project

Format & Delivery
  • 60- or 90-minute workshop

  • Works well alongside “Intersectionality as a Leadership Competency”

  • Can be customized for specific ERGs (e.g., Women’s, Black, Immigrant, etc.)

3 DISC for ERG Leadership Teams

Help your ERG leadership team work better together with a shared language for communication, decision-making, and conflict. This workshop uses DISC assessments to strengthen how your ERG Board leads.

Overview

ERG leadership teams are often passionate, diverse, and busy. Without shared tools for understanding communication styles and preferences, misunderstandings and friction can slow down impact.

In this workshop, each ERG leader completes a DISC assessment and receives a personalized profile. During the session, Dr. Adeyemo guides the team through their collective styles, strengths, and blind spots—and helps them translate these insights into better collaboration.

Who It’s For
  • ERG/BRG Executive Boards

  • ERG Planning Committees

  • Cross-ERG leadership councils

Participants Will:
  • Understand their individual DISC style and priorities

  • Learn how different styles show up in meetings, planning, conflict, and deadlines

  • Explore the team’s combined strengths and potential friction points

  • Agree on communication norms that honor different styles

  • Create clear next steps for how they’ll work together more effectively

Format & Delivery
  • Pre-work: DISC assessments completed by participants

  • 2-hour workshop recommended for full teams

  • Can be combined with an annual ERG strategy/vision session
